November 13, 2010 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Cool, sunny
Comments:
Wow, this course was insane. Hill after hill, and the "Morty's Mountain" was absolutely unbelievably steep and long. My time is definitely a testament to its difficulty, and yet that was the most fun I've had during a meet in a while. We got to cool down with a bunch of other Maine runners, I finished my season on one of the coolest (and difficult) courses in New England, and staying in the hotel and the car rides to there and back was very fun.
Anyway, the course is very deceiving, and I bet I could have finished much faster, but the whole time I was nervous about dying, so I kept my pace too controlled. The result was that at the 200m mark, I realized I wasn't very tired at all, and ended up covering that last 200 in probably 30 seconds; I was literally flying past everyone. Still, lots of fun, and I'm glad to finally get a chance to take a break.
Also, my 1-2 week break begins tomorrow, thank god.
