MLK tempo

Comments:
Kinda tapering it this week. Going to get in a lot of good hurdle work. Anyways kinda did a tempo thing today. It started raining a lot right before we went. Was debating wearing glasses even. Warmed up to MLK, then did some drills before starting a 4 mile tempo.

Ran with Mitchell and Grogan in the beginning. Planned on hitting 6:00 on the way out, then drop it down comfortably on the way back. Seemed like we did on the way out went 11:53. Kinda was alone on the way back, but made a conscious effort to go faster. It was tough. Shins and calves (actually all lower legs) were really tight. I felt that after VMI also. Still pushed it came in at 11:39.

Jogged with David over to the track to do 4x200s w/ hurdles. Stomach was not feeling it. Took a much needed pit stop in Wade. Must be my reaction to Pretzel Thins. I can handle the Nibblers, but the thins are a different story. Anyways, David went first, so that Coach could watch. I got to see too (if your reading, looked fine, arms were flailing, and you still seem to float over. I feel like repetition and becoming more comfortable with going over in succession is the best remedy). I was stuttering into a lot of them, but going over and exiting well. I would have to say I wasnt really paying attention to the acceleration which probably hurt. Looking forward to the simulation. Its what I need. Glad Chris will be there too. Hopefully he can show us the pace.

Cooldown back to veale. David and I went Little Italy. Then did dips and pull ups downstairs for the lift. Back up for stretch, roll, L7, abs and ice. Back and knee not too tight, but my front hip feels a little tight for some reason. Might be because my stomach is still a little upset.

Watch film tomorrow, then do a pool workout, then run in the PM.

I am still trying to find that mental focus. Every workout is an opportunity to practice. Dont studder, keep the momentum up and power through. I know what I need to do, just do it. This is where I belong, and I want to reassure that.
