Niagara River Ravine

September 1, 2011 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 65 Cloudy

Comments:
I woke up at 6am to run before the day's events at the conference because I wasn't supposed to have any other time. It's amazing how empty the Falls is in the early hours. Nobody goes to see Niagara Falls at 6am. (who knew?) Today I decided to run along the river in the opposite direction, despite having a satisfactory run yesterday, and turned north toward Lake Ontario. In this direction along the river, at the bottom of the falls, the river was in a deep ravine and I was running along the rim of it. The surrounding area, however, was much less wealthy than to the south despite the better view, and I was on concrete a lot more.

After the neighborhoods, I reached a park along the river where the river went through a huge eddy, about a half mile across and its channel took a sharp turn east. I ran around the eddy to the opposite point where the river exited toward Lake Ontario, mostly along a crushed limestone path at the rim in the park. It was really cool.

On the way back, I saw not one, but three (3) black squirrels and a street named BAMFIELD, which sounds like a pretty BAMF name to me, further proof I'v been hanging around the team too long...haha.
