Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Off Campus practice today. Left Veale around 10, got my ankles taped before. We went down to the towpath in Independence for our tempo workout. The plan was timed 35 or 40 min at tempo pace. Out and back style. Since I still did the 4 miles last time, Coach just wanted me to do 25 min. I think I am ready for the 5 mile tempo next week though.
Warm up with the big group, and then some drills. The temperature was real nice out today. Overcast, but nice enough for shirtless. Lots of people out on the trail too. Group 2 started out behind the front 5. Kept a nice even pace in the beginning, then about 10 min started to pick up the pace. I was leading in that beginning, then a group of me, Wyatt, Drew and Corey started to lead it out until we turned around at 17:30. Held that same pace it seems on the way back. I was working hard, but we were all talking... I held with the pack so mentally, this was positive. I am happy I did that and stayed upfront. At 25, I stopped and the rest of the group kicked it in. 160 HR after finishing, which is good, way lower than Last week, and I was probably going harder with people :). Pace was probably faster, around 5:40 I would guess. I have no idea how far I went cause I stopped at a weird time.
Cooled down back to the parking lot. Ran with Barnes while he biked for a while. Talked about racing Calvin or PSB. I dont know if I have a choice really. There are pros to both... I guess I should decide sometime. Added on a little more northbound with Aaron and some other people. Stretch, L7 and abs in the field. Felt good at the end actually. Ankles fine. Long run prepared me I think. Dennys after for pancakes!
