Once again a cool day overall. Legs tired from this morning, knee was a little tight. Found out we had a hill workout in the meadow. I havnt done one there in a long time. Got taped up and went out on the warm up. We warmed up along the course. The footing was pretty tough on the way down, so I opted to not open up my stride in the 100 section we were supposed to. The uphill was fine though. We had 8 x 1000m loop. Dec
The loop went from the trailer on the furthest right hill, all the way up to the end of the wall, and back down. Did some drills before, then group 2 was off. Stuck with the pack for the first 2 or so, but they really gapped me because I had to go slow down the hill. This was kinda a bummer. I really want to work on pack dynamics. I guess it was still a plus because I was trying to see how many people I could catch on the way back up. Worked the hills pretty hard, focused on going faster and stronger, eyes up the hill. Had a tough time at the top when it leveled out. Coaches thought I looked strong, which is good because I felt decently strong. Cooled it on the downhill, but focused on going off the toes, and looking up. I need to get more of a toe strike than the heel strike.
After 8, regrouped and did a cool down back. Legs were pretty beat, so I cut it a little short on the cool down. Last bit was on Van Horn Field. Down to lift, which was pretty tough as usual, but all worth it, then stretch (Static 3) ankle walks, roll, L7, pushups and ice. Late day at Veale. Wouldnt have it any other way.
Picked up my Brooks. I still got a lot left on these ones.. The new ones are fire red its badass.
