Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 65F, awesome
Comments:
Strikes and gutters. Overall I felt GREAT, but I ran into a couple self-inflicted snags.
Waited 'til 5:30 to run since I was bustling around doing packing and helping mom prep for the bash. Among other things, I organized all my camping shit and the stuff I need to take to Oregon, and I packed 90% of it in the car. TONS OF ROOM. Sheesh, we may wind up taking LESS SHIT with us for 12 weeks than we did for 1.5 weeks on spring break! I'm really excited...
Went running WITHOUT stretching the calves. Moreover, I chose to run the Deuce Lutz, which is a terrible choice for a recovering achilles.
Felt fine-ish 'til I got on the beginning of Ellie. I started feeling some on/off tightness -- really subtle -- in the R heel. It took about a half mile to a mile to determine it was real. Stopped to stretch midway through the loop, about 23 minutes in. Decided I needed to turn back after stretching it out for about 4-5 minutes.
Felt fine for the rest of the run, but s/p it's a little TECH: achy and feeling tweaked. Might've just run myself into a rest day tomorrow.
Otherwise I felt great, though. Rolled like a 6:20 last mile. I'm fit already, I think -- I just gotta refine it and build up my "callouses"!
