What an odd day at practice. First, I got busted for not signing my NCAA forms, which technically means I was ineligible so far this season, even though I raced twice... Oops. Then, went down to heat hammy because it was still tight. Decided that it wasnt worth running today, got to take a few days off from running. Heated and biofreezed, and it felt ok.
Me Jeff and Brandon went up for a split effort on the bikes. It was soo hot in there, actually had to take off our shirts half way through. Did 10 warm up, 18 hard, 3 rest, 18 hard, 11 cool down. Tried to keep the 18 as hard as possible, but there were parts were I wasnt feeling it. Hard to keep HR up. Was up around 150-155 most of the time... Not as good as an MLK effort, but shit happens. Quads were worked, only felt the tightness a few times on the bike which I guess is good.
Got off and went down to lift. Did everything except the jerk and cleans. It felt decent though I was working that upper body. did the shins and bands right this time too. Back up, stretched out ok, but wanted to get into the ice bath. Waited and waited, got in, then the fire alarm went off? WTF had to wait outside for a while, then didnt get back in... L7 before shower then iced with Brandons ice bag.
Overall, weird stuff happened. I was kinda flustered. I rerealize how important each race is, and it is the fun part, what we work for. Whats the point of all this if we dont achieve our potentials on race day? there is no point. I am looking forward to continuing my plan. Its fun to race well, its good to feel that way.
