Exercise Type: Run

Long day at the All Ohio. Felt pretty good this morning. My legs were alright, but my hammy was still a bit tight. Long bus ride didnt help, but I stayed loose. The weather was shit today, all across Ohio. Rainy and windy a ton. Good thing I had my new headband :). Finally got there, set up the tent, and then just chilled on the bus for a while. The open race was later, so we just chilled. As the varsity race was getting ready, all the open guys finally got out there and we went for the warm up. Looped around the field, which reminded me of Marathon kinda. This was all new to me because I didnt race last year here. The course was looking a little more torn up... We still had to get it done.

Biofreeze and rolled hammy a lot, was feeling better I guess... Drills and striders were a little lackluster when warming up. I was kinda nervous about it. Should have been thinking more about the race plan. Trying to stick together. Could feel the tightness and didnt know what to expect. All I know is that was the wrong mindset!

Gun went off, and we all came flying out of box 1 way to the left. Kinda odd coach said the times would be slow, and we should settle in. Did, but the pace felt good. Had a pack of Me Drew Corey and Paul. Let Paul and COrey go ahead through the mile, which we hit in 5:20. I didnt think it was too fast at all, but somepeople didnt like it. Kept rolling to the 2 mile as the pack, then we hit the long hill. I swong to the outside and beasted up it, felt strong there. At the top, kept moving from pack to pack. I felt great there. Crested up past the camp, then went back around the hairpin, and I could feel myself slowing down a lot. Barnes yelled at me to get going, but I still felt beat up. Aaron and Paul caught up to me on the 5k, and I knew it was time to go again. I had lost a lot there in that 2.5-3.5 mile section. We came back up on the hill, and I flew up it again, leaving Paul and Aaron... Not the best thing to do, but I felt so good there and hit the switch like I did the first time around. Kinda felt like I was alone at that point, and pushed it in. Deceived again by the ending, pushed hard but got passed by a small group with like 100 to go... Collapsed again at the finish line. When I got there, I was simply done running. Good race though. I would have finished right between Brandon and Wyatt in the other race. Slow time, but the effort was better I think, especially since I didnt run much this week. It was so windy that its hard to compare times. Ran in my ankle braces, and it felt SOOOO good, no constriction, felt freer. Also, my hammy was no problem at all. I went out there, raced and tried to control my situation, and fought till the end.

Cooled down random places, got a terrible stomach cramp after god damn. Must have ment I ran fast. Stretched a little with John Frey, who balled hard today. Then the trip home. Got to watch Stargate which is a totally badass movie, havnt seen it in so long.
