All-Ohio 2011 - The Highs and Lows

September 30, 2011 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Well, quite a cold and rainy day for this one. I have mixed feeling about the race. On the one hand, I again felt much better than I have all season so far, I was passing people the entired race, and my last two miles did not turn into a horror story. My time ended up being a 27:05, 26th place in D.III, 111th overall.

On the other hand, we did not get out as fast as we needed to and I would have like to run the same race if I had gone out at 5:10 or so. Also, our pack broke up but I know we will be together in the end. The team did not finish where we wanted it to, but we are continuing to progress, ONU's pack is not too far away, OWU's top runners are not too far away, and WaBASH currently is in deparate needs of a 5th runner and beyond. Like I've said, us making it to nationals will be from the bottom up, not from being on top all season and staying there. I know that with more time we are going to be able to put forth the performances we need when it counts.

Personally, I want two more weeks as well and I'll be ready at Oberlin to take on those packs we need to be in front of.

6 mile or so cool down to start the backload of mileage for the week.
