Short Fern Ridge Bike

February 5, 2009 (Night)

Exercise Type: Bike

Weather: 50s, calm

Comments:
After work I went for my first ride in a while. And for the first time in over a week, I DIDN'T get a flat.

Felt pretty damn good early, hold up 20mph+ pretty well over the first half of the ride. I was worried I had a strong wind at my back, but it was actually quite calm.

By the time I got out to Fern Ridge, I was pretty damn tired...from work, the run, being out of shape -- all of it, I guess. I cut the ride short at the end of the bike path, turning R instead of going all the way to Bailey Hill.

Good call, since the ride still wound up being 25mi with that cutoff. Surprising.

I struggled, but I managed to keep the entire ride above 19mph average. Sucks to be out of bike shape.

And it sucks even more to have knee pain. My damn medial knee felt shitty on this ride; I think it's because I'm biking -- and doing EVERYTHING -- "toe out" on my L side (or at least L>>R). Gotta work on that with EVERYTHING I do.
