Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Ehh felt decent after the morning run. Wasnt too sore or tired. Hammy feels good which is a good thing. Went at 4 with everyone. WE were doing a simple pace change fartlek near NP. Warmed up up through the meadow to Fairhill. There we stopped to do drills and such. I had to pee a bunch, and so did everyone else hehe. Coach told us the workout before, but it was 2 x :30 fast, w/ :45 recovery, then 3 x 3:00 fast w/ 3:00 recovery, then 4 x 4:00 tempo with 1:00 recovery, then finish off with the 30s again. She wanted us to stay on grass to save out legs. We honeslty ended up on roads and sidewalks a lot because the grass was so crappy, and the leaves made it dangerous for ankles. I cant risk it. Anyways tried to hit the fast stuff hard, stick up with Peter and David. Aaron was right behind me the whole time. Noticed that I was getting really tight, and drifting off a little too much. I was pretty tired after the last one of those. Thought I would keep it a little simple on the tempos. The first two felt awful, felt I couldnt get going, felt heavy and constrictive, kinda like on Saturday. Peter stayed back too. The last too, I loosened up, opened up, and felt a lot better. Even though I didnt run as much grass as coach wanted, I did listen to her, and got through the workout. Today wasnt the race.
Cooled down with Peter since we split off near the end. Got back to veale and stretch static 3, hips, pushups and dips, rolling and such. THen I did a wall hang, L7 and ice bath for my lower legs, which have been getting a little tight. Feeling tired, so Ill take it easy and listen to my body the next few days, then at the race tell it to shut the fuck up and just go and race. Excited for this weekend. This is where I wanted to be. But now I want to go further. Lots of goals come down to this part of the season, and this will be a weapon to use in steeple. I want those points.
