Ended up being the last race of this season. Wow. What a long season. Interesting race and way to wrap it. I am satisfied, much more than other seasons, actually any at case. Freshman year I gave up at the end, then in track last year, I just felt unprepared. Even though we didnt make it out, or I didnt complete all my goals, I still had a good season, ran consistent, and tried to be a part of this team. Thats what was asked, and I listened. That being said, I can learn from all this an translate it into track. This was the season I needed.

Anyways conditions at Oberlin were real good. Beautiful day, little bit of wind. Got there early, chilled out, and then took a little walk around the course. Looked good. We started the warm up as the girls were racing. I felt kinda tired, stayed in the back. Stretched back at the tent, got spiked took them over to the line. Pretty standard warm up.

At the line, peed a few times, then did the warm ups. Coach told us the plan, and we knew what we had to do. Go out there an give it our best, no regrets at the end. Race started out decently fast. At least I was there at the gun. Kinda lost sight of Peter since everyone got out. It was ok though because I still had contact. Eventually I swong out and got back with Peter. He started to take away after the 2 mile, and I just stayed fighting with the people around me. I guess I relaxed a little there... I can definitely feel the whole season on my legs. Its just how that happens. Threw some surges near 3 and 4, and then with 4 I knew that that is where I do well on this course. I saw Paul a couple of times in front of me, but didnt know he was so close. Threw in my kick on the stretch near the baseball fields, just because I was tired and wanted to finish. I passed a lot of people at the end, my vision was true... Didnt get the PR or the place that I wanted (got 123, looking for 70s), but I was still spent at the end. A fitting end to the season. I feel like I put all I had into the season, with the fucked up ankles and all, and felt satisfied at the end.

At the end, lied around in the finish chute, wondering how we did. Seemed like a few teams really shit the bed, I kinda had a sense of hope. It was an interesting feeling. I honestly had no idea what to expect, mostly because I didnt see the race. Only had to led fate take over. After getting the stuff and heading back, found out we got 7, knew the season was over. We were very close to the other teams, OWU had a beast day. Kinda cool since we never thought we would be close to them ever. Had a team meeting, talked about the future, even though we had it in our grasp now. This was my first Regionals, so I didnt really know what to expect with the tension and emotion. Didnt really do a cool down... Good job to everyone today and to all the fans that came out to watch.

Legs are really tired, I am really tired, what a season. I felt connected to everyone. Lots of respect. Even with all the stress of a race, the emotion and the tension. It is all worth it. Might run a few times this week, just to relieve stress, then I am going off for 2 weeks to let my ankle and legs recover. Ill do ankle stuff in the meantime. Then I need a serious meeting with coach, and map out my track season. With this under my belt, I feel way more confident to dominate people at the steeple.
