Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
I didn't have the best feeling about this run: my knee "sort of hurt" on the ride home from work (got done at NOON TODAY!), and even a bit when I did drills before running.
Didn't feel great early, either...UNTIL I focused on plantarflexion on the L.
Before my calves "blew up" (and the "achilles/back fiasco"), I was running on my mid-foot and my knee was feeling the best it had. Then that happened, and I stopped. I realized today that I'm STILL not pushing off on the L enough...and because of that, my L tibia is excessively externally rotating -- thus the medial knee pain!
I worked really hard to push off on that side, and once I got to Autzen I decided to do a 30/30 "workout", of going up-tempo in order to facilitate push-off (which, not-so-coincidentally, was what made it feel good on Saturday's run).
The 30/30s -- and this whole run, in general -- were TOUGH. I wound up doing it all the way home, so about 3.5 miles. Maybe 20+ reps, in all. Overall my knee felt MUCH BETTER. Still felt it a bit...but I ALSO had to pretty much LEAN to the L, and to not fall over, I had to push off L! Interesting. GOD did I feel clunky.
Good news was, after I got home, did circuits and iced, I had some CENTRAL knee soreness, but nothing medial or patellar! Nice.
Went to CG vs Elmira last night in Elmira. CG sucked. Oh well.
