Comments:
By today, my ankle was a minor annoyance walking around at work, so I decided to try a run. The first mile went pretty well with my ankle pain coming and going periodically, but very much bearable. The next three miles were rather rough and I considered stopping several times. There were points when I was more hobbling than running. But, there were also points when my form came back together, my ankle stopped hurting, and the run was very normal. I turned around to come back and really struggled through the first mile back. I was concerned I may have to stop and walk home. After about 5.5 miles, I got it together for the longest period of time to that point and made it about a half mile without any real pain. Then, with one wrong step, I felt like someone stabbed me. After about ten seconds, it didn't hurt anymore and I finished with less pain than I felt on most of the run. It definitely hurts less on grass. Hopefully, it will just feel a little better every day and a week from now it will be history. This went as well as I realistically could have hoped.
