Phew, that was brutal. For some reason I can't fathom, despite our impending speed workout tomorrow at Bates, Mr. Paul had us also run a speed workout with the sprinters today. It was 13 repeats of a fairly short interval, although since it was in the gym there was a sharp turn around 2/3rds through that made it difficult to sprint. Between each interval we'd rest 2 minutes, and after the fifth, tenth, and thirteenth intervals we did some core stuff.
My shoes were probably the worst choice for this workout. Longer intervals are already pretty hard with these shoes, but when I'm supposed to be sprinting it's nearly impossible to feel like I'm at max speed. As a result the whole workout was a frustrating ordeal.
