My stomach was giving me trouble still today so I was slightly concerned I would have issues in the workout, but we were still running relaxed enough that it wasn't a problem. My shin was sore before we ran, but we started the sustained effort really slow, 3:00 for the first 800, and then sped up, so it loosened quite nicely. We took our heart rates afterward and mine was 172, so I clearly was not trying extraordinarily hard, but's that's fine since we're still in a building phase.

The 400s went pretty poorly because once we started running fast I felt sore and uncoordinated, almost as though I'd never run a 5:00 mile before. I tried to get up on my toes for the second one and that felt even stranger. I guess this speed thing will take some getting used to.
