Futility?

May 30, 2008 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Elliptical

Weather: Inside

Comments:
All in all, this was weird day. I started off attempting to run, but made it only about a 400 before I decided to elliptical. I had some anger issues on the elliptical and went at a pace well beyond what I could expect to sustain. I was actually breathing hard and my legs couldn't take it. Also, I was inconsistent, speeding up with each sudden burst of anger and slowly relaxing between. After fifteen minutes, I became so irritated that I left the elliptical and took off down the street at a near sprint. After about a 200, I felt a fresh stab of pain in my ankle, hobbled on for a few seconds, and inevitably turned around to go home in failure. Once home, I got back on the elliptical, which had dying batteries, so it kept turning on and off. I proceeded to punch it several times to no avail, as I erratically alternated between fast and faster depending on my anger level. I finally started to relax about a total of half an hour in. Then the power went out and I finished it in the dark, finally relaxed. My ankle felt much worse after yesterday, but yet still much better than Wednesday. I was hoping this would be a one day injury not a three day injury. Maybe I could use a little patience. It is only May, but yet how can ever expect to get better if I'm not working hard and consistantly every day. Every run should be a building block to somewhere, but today was NOT a building block. I'm going in the wrong direction, day by day.
