First of all, the team ran pretty well as whole today and reclaimed the Obelisk by a large margin (that I missed the final score of cooling down). Congratulations to all of you!
Now, as for me.... I went out right next to Ethan for the first mile. Someone told me to fall in behind him and I did for a while longer. He started pulling away from me during the middle mile and I started to tighten up and fall off pace. At one point the entire race passed me. I managed not to completely tank and made a move to pass three guys, but seemed to lack enough speed to take it to the next level. I finished sort of tight but not necessarily dying. I think I could have kept going for a couple more miles without slowing down too much more. I feel like I left something out on the track today and I think I've been a little to easy on myself so far this season. I didn't seem to care about losing to these guys and didn't seem to feel a rush toward the finish, more like a whimper. My leg strength and speed isn't there yet. I might have avoided an epic catastrophe, but I'm not physically prepared to perform at this level at the moment and this was not a good performance on my part.
I may be back on the roster, but I ran like I was retired today.
