interval workout. still not 100%, but capable of working out for sure, and working hard to hit times. groups got split up for various time and other restricting reasons, so it was me, wyatt, mercer, and paul. warmed up a mile beforehand with chris on the track, then two more with the workout guys. our workout was 4 times 1000, 1 800, and 1 600, with the last 200 slightly quicker than the pace of the previous part. coach wanted 78 for the 1000's, 76 for the 800, and 75 for the 600. we were outside and it was pretty windy, but got pretty cool for our workout as it was getting darker. coach wasn't there to watch either, she stayed inside for the shorter groups because she's getting sick. just did my best to hit the times. it was pretty tough, but attribute that to me being sick, as i easily was crushing this kind of workout a week ago. still pretty good, but i noticed on the last 200 of the last interval i was unable to pick it up a notch. i wasn't trying to kill it, but it took more effort to throw in a 35 than i wanted it to.
2:37/39 (800/200)
2:36/38 (800/200)
2:36/38 (800/200)
2:35/38 (800/200)
1:51/37 (600/200)
1:11/35 (400/200)
hopefully i can kill this stupid thing by friday. talked to coach, and getting my second shot at the 5k in as many weeks, which she usually doesn't do. but i just layed out my thoughts about how saturday wasn't much of a race, and i was sick. she agreed to it, so i was pleased. i just want to put out my bid for going to indoor conference in a few weeks. since ethan might not be going, i know a good race by me can get me in the 5k, or at least thats the hope. i think a sub 15:45 effort might do it. but i also want a little more than that. i want to go to conference real bad. another one of my goals, i intend on fulfilling. i'll go out same pace as saturday, and knowing i wont be sick try and pick it up bit by bit from the halfway point or so. its time to show up. not going to wait 3 years like i did in high school to get good. i can't do it again. it will tear me up inside. it nearly had me at the end of cross, don't want to go there again.
