indoor track testdrive: The waiting game

Pretty much right after biking, I decided to go jog on the track to see how I felt. It was better than yesterday, but still not better. Obviously, since it was so short. I dont know what to think, but I want to think that the muscle is loosening up.

Talked to the doctors, and the good news is it is just a muscle strain. Why does it take so long to loosen up?? Mobility is ok, but the doc could feel the lump it has made. I can feel it too. It is truly a waiting game to get that lump to release. STEM, ultrasound, stretching, whatever... its gonna happen eventually, but when? and will it be too late. Greater Cleveland and the indoor season is out the window for sure. I am guessing ill be back to mileage in 3 weeks... That gives me less that 10 weeks to get my ass into racing shape for All Ohio and Conference, the two races I care about performing my best in. I am not one to give up. Im a Spartan. The reason Im not having a mental breakdown is because I know I am still in the game. The task is to get back on my feet, and get the job done. Looks like ill be pulling an Ontko this season. The most important this is to play the cards right, and look at the big picture. I did it last season, and was successful. Being patient when needed, and striking hard when the time is right.
