Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Apparently practice was at 6 today, but I was ready to go at 3, and Im kinda on my own, so I opted for the earlier start. This basically meant doing the warm up with Chris and David. I heated, chatted with Jess, then went out to Northside and back. It def got the endorphins running. SOmething I needed real bad. I actually felt decent, could feel the aching still, but I felt like I could run fairly well and comfortably. When we got back, did a mile on Van Horn to up the mileage. Sore at the end... Pain is temporary
Rehab. Next week, try to ween of rehab and get back into lifting.
Back up to stretch roll L7 abs and talk to a bunch of people before the meeting. Chatted with Tom the recruit about NY running.
I truly believe that getting back to running will help the pain go away. Jess said, I could be feeling it throughout the season, but if I can work with it and do what I need to do, it should be ok. I remember being nervous before All Ohio because I pulled my hammy bowling the week before. I didnt know if I could race ok. I started the race, went out and did what I had to do, and didnt even feel it at all. It will go away when the time comes... remember that.
At the team meeting, coach talked about the spring break trip and how outdoor comes out fast and is packing into basically two months... That isnt a lot of time to get into shape and be ready to race. I am behind the ball. I have to accept this. I guess Im not where I want to be now in terms of running, but this is going to be a new journey for me, starting late, and racing for what matters. Xc was a success this season because I made it through, and ran tough till the end. TO make this season a success, I need to prepare for (im thinking at most) 3 races, and get better in each one, and end with a bang at CMU. Time has been ticking, and I dont know whats gonna happen. The only thing I know is to get where I want to go, I need to keep my head up, stay positive, keep moving forward with the smart plan, accept the pain, and be prepared. I will do whatever it takes to run my race at the end of this season.
