Willamette Pass Ski

March 7, 2009 (Morning)

NICE AFTERNOON.

Rolled over to Anytime to lift, then came home, cleaned up, packed up, and headed east on OR58.

The objective was to CC ski somewhere, then visit this new brewery in Oakridge. Mission accomplished on both.

I stopped at Gold Lake Sno-Park first. TONS of fresh snow and not too warm. However, it was ALL classic track and that's super-boring, so I packed up and headed up to Willamette Pass.

GREAT TRAILS. Freshly groomed with litrally no skate marks whatsoever. I really enjoyed the skiing but it was very hilly and, after the run and weights, I was SUPER-TIRED. I wound up only skiing about 30min before I hit up the chalet to change and get to Oakridge.

In Oakridge I stopped at this TERRIFIC Pub/brewery called "Brewers Union Local 180". It bills itself as the only English-style ale house in OR. And it was authentic, English cask-style brew. AND AMAZING.

Over THREE TRUE ENGLISH PINTS (a special bitter, a stout, and an English IPA) I carved out app materials for the SCS. I also had a snack of tempeh sticks with "mash"/gravy. Yum!

GOOD DAY. Got back to Spfd at 1800 but didn't do anything else the rest of the night.
