20 Mile Cut-Down

This was a good one. Ran on NCR. Wanted to do cut-downs, bring it out nice and slow then have a good last 5 miles.

Ran 3 miles out and back by myself at 8am on the day of daylight savings, so it felt more like 7am. Sumanth met me at mile 0 because he wanted 14, I wanted 20. He was waiting when I got back from my opening 6 so I never had to stop.

Thought my thumbs were going to fall off they were so cold for 4 of the first 6 miles. Also really was not feeling in the mood for the run, first time in a while, and really didn't feel like pushing it so I was figuring to keep the pace pretty pedestrian then maybe pick it up at the end. Well this is what I wound up doing.

Yeah...awesome cut down workout. Really couldn't be happier with it. Every single split we did a cut down (except for one!) This workout was exactly what I needed. I could've run faster but wouldn't have had the same workout or anywhere near the benefit that this gave me. Last two miles suuuuuuucked. Wasn't tired, my legs just didn't feel like turning over anymore. I was conversational and really relaxed the whole way. 17 of the 20 miles I didn't feel like I had even started running yet. Then the next I felt it, then the next two I was sick of it.

Good run, glad I got that in.
