The cap of our awesome spring break trip! So legit its tough to describe. I hope the pictures posted do it justice.

Anyways we got up, cleaned the house then headed out to Tampa. It was hot out again, and the bus ride made me feel a little cramped. We got to USF so early, running events didnt start till 2:30. I just chilled. I missed all the indoor meets, so I havnt really "Competed" in a while. Kinda just chilled, not into it, until the warm up. Warmed up real early because there were lots of heats. Some huge teams were there, I think us and Wooster were the only DIII. Cool. Warmed up with Chris on some nice trails on the backside of the track. Weather was nice, and it was easy to warm up. With the cloud cover it was perfect, but with the sun out it was pretty hot.

Drills and stretchs and everything needed to get ready for the race. I was entered in the 3000 and the 1500. Decided I wanted to try something fast, since I will be doing the 3000 later. Joe and I were in the 5 of 5 heats, so it was hard to feel any pressure. I didnt, I was just gonna go out and race with a time trail mentality, see what it was like to run a quicker pace, and feel a race environment. COach wanted me at 72 all around, which is way slower than what i could be at. I was fine with that, since I have only done like 3 workouts. Race started off,a nd I quickly found myself in the middle of the pack. I wasnt really paying attention to them, just trying to stay up, on pace, and give it a good kick in the finish. I hit 73s all around, then poured it on for a faster finish. Kinda went by, didnt really feel like a competitive race. I will be ready for that feeling though.

Cooled down through USF campus with Corey Ethan and David. Its huge, big state school. Kinda got lost. It was pretty nice though, they get the good life. I would never study if I went there, I would chill on their little beach on campus. David and I lifted after, improvised of course... Stertch roll and L7 in the sun...

Cool story about showering. We HAD to take showers before the 20 hr bus ride back, so Rubin had a time set for us. David Rachael and I all ran over to the athletics center and tried to sneak in to a shower. We were creeping down the hallways, dodging security, and ran into a USF tennis player. He was so nice, and let us into the locker room and showers. Their facilities were sooo nice, DI has it good. Made it out with a nice shower, ready for the long bus ride...

This was good for me, even if the time was bordering on embarrassing. It was a time trial, and now I know where I need to go. I got 3 more weeks before a steeple, and that is the reality. VMI was fun last year, and I sure wish I could be ready, but I need to train for that ultimate goal. The only thing to do is stay positive and train hard, and not give up.

Probably have more to say, but Im logging late since we ahve been on the bus for the past 20 hours... That didnt mess my legs up as musch as I would have thought... no run Sat, but shake out, then 50 next week!
