Bulls Invitational

Weather: Warm and a little breezy but not bad

Comments:
Raced the 1500 and the 400 in that order. Ben and I were both in the 5th heat out of 5 in the fifteen. Watched both Chris and Peter have pretty solid races right before we went. Coach told us to go out controlled for the first half and then start moving up, my goal pace was 74's, his was 72s. Got off to a decent start, came through the four right on pace. Hung back a little more than I should've on the second lap, came through at 2:32-2:33. I could hear David and Chris saying I looked good and I felt like I had a lot left. Picked it up some and passed three guys in the next 250m. Crossed the line with 400 to go and knew that if I wanted a good time I'd have to move. Felt really fresh still so I cooked it in and went sub 4:40 which was good because that was more or less the time I had in mind coming in. Did a few strides between to get pumped for the four. Was shooting for 58, in a heat seeded between 52.6 and 54.24. As things were getting started they added the unseeded guys to my heat. I then planned on a smaller gap between myself and everyone else. Went out, flet like everyone was pulling away too fast so I must be going to slow. Just basically went all out the whole way around. hit a wall just before 200m in and everything started slowing down. Coming down the final straight, lactic acid lock up hit real hard and coach was shouting 'lift!' and I couldn't feel my legs and it felt like jogging pace as I crossed the line. Based on how it felt I guessed I was at 66 or something really horrible for me. Turns out the unseeded guys went 49,49,50 or something crazy like that and I went 61. Still terrible and I looked like a moron but at least it's a PR. Cooled down a loop by myself then a loop with Ian MacPherson who was also at the meet.

Crossfit lift: 3x: 20 pushups, 20 rocket jumps, 10 ea extensor lifts, 20 ea abductor lifts, 10 ea single leg squats
