CD: MLK to NRV to Veale
Today's workout was a repeat of the workout from last Monday though I was running it for the first time. On paper we were supposed to run 5k pace but the time Coach told the 800/1500 guys was much slower and this wasn't intended to be a killer workout, so we just ran comfortably fast and stayed in a group of David, Corey, Chris Wade, Wyatt, and me. We were assigned 6-8 repeats and since I am a 10k runner I was told to do all of them. David decided to also do them all and the other three stopped at six. We did four hard segments out and four back while the others stopped after two back and jogged to Veale. I ran with David to NRV where he did steeple jumps and I joined the 1500 runners back to Veale.
While this felt somewhat difficult at points, it was easy enough that I didn't feel progressively more and more tired throughout. I was able to talk a little even on the fast parts, not enough to really hold a conversation, but a little here and there.
Near the two mile mark on the way out, a goose began to fly at the pack of us when we ran by. After following for a little bit, the bird stopped and made another attempt. Like when people run at a pack of geese and they scatter, the goose flew at a pack of runners and we scattered in every direction.
