1200-800-400-200-200!

April 21, 2012 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Good lordy this team is so strong. Today rocked, and I think that the success of today really motivated me in this workout. I think this has to be one of my best feeling workouts in awhile. After the meet, headed to Ellington track (there was something going on at AU) to jog a bit more for warmup and to see where the marks were (luckily they were marked already). Drills, dynamics, strides etc. Wanted to run in the flats today to get used to them more. Was told to do 1200-800-400-200-200 with a focus on speedwork more than distance whatnot, with a hope of a generous 600 recovery in between, so opted for shorter inbetween 12 and 8 and a bit longer inbetween the others. . Wasn't quite sure what 600 was on a 320m track. Ran the 1200 in 4:57, was working, but felt a bit controlled. Form felt awesome. Lap and a half recovery into the 800, ran that in 3:16. Working harder than the 12 for sure, but still didn't feel uber uber difficult. Longer recovery before the 400 a little less than 800m and saved a few caterpillars along the way. Fastest time for a 400 in a workout, finished in 83. Felt that form, lifting, shoes, combination of everything helped me in this one and for the rest of the workout (only thing was shoulders felt a bit tight but I'm not sure if thats a strength thing or not) . Don't think I've run that for a 400 in a workout before. Lap and a quarter cooldown, 2x200. 41, 39. Started pouring right before the first one. 15 min cooldownThoroughly tired but very content and I'd say the speed focus was acheived even though didnt go all out on the 12 and 8. Couldnt lift today, so more strength and whatnot at home! Well done today!
