Now That's Respect

June 7, 2012 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Ran out on Hotchkiss to Lakeview. Another beautiful day. On the way back, I passed Mr. Baker; husband of one of the village librarians who probably in his mid 50s, still runs. Just ran the Cleveland Marathon and broke 4 hours. So I talked to him for a bit before continuing on, and I was thinking how I feel like someone like him deserves more respect than a young runner like myself.

I feel like pushing yourself to keep going to that extent when you get older, and don't feel all spry and youthful, and have aches and pains, etc..is a harder thing to do than being young and pushing yourself. If asked right now, I am not sure I could answer that I would be doing the same in 30 years. Moral of the story: I respect you older runners, stride on.

Speaking I striding, I did some of that when I got back. 5 x 100m.

Essentials: Gluts, 300 abs, 60 push-ups, leg hang
