April 4, 2009 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: so goddam windy, got nicer towards the end of the day but kinda cold to start off
Comments:
opened up by anchoring the 4x8 in 2:04.5, got the baton in first by a couple meters but after the first 100 i just drafted off the c.h. flowers guy for a while, couldn't move a whole lot during the majority of the race and the wind buffeted me around a lot but with 200 to go i knew i had a shot at outkicking him even though he had gapped me by about 10 meters, started closing with 100 to go and killed him in the last 50 or so and won by over a second in 8:15.50, didn't feel really rested for dmr and the 1200 was--amazingly--slower than last week's effort, just chilled off carl until 400 to go and then took the lead but lost it with 200 to go and then battled back to hand off even with him in 3:24.0, felt kinda good about 30 min before the 4xmile feeling really pumped but then it sorta faded and i just felt tired right before i anchored, ran 4:49.81 after going out in 2:22, felt slow from the start but had over a 100 meter lead so just chilled and nearly strided the last lap, 2 golds and a silver is a pretty good day and the meet was fun overall, times were slow cause of the wind but no big deal
