3x700 even. race simulation. 10:27, 10:30, 10:25. These times are rough estimates, becuase on the 1st 700, I went 50 yards too long. On the second, I went 50 yards too short. And on the third, my watch included the time from the extra 50 yards we did to make up for being short.
First 700. I pulled. Peer pressure? Maybe. But I really got to focus on my stroke and catch. I notice that when the hand enters the water, the wrist must not be curved too much, or the movement through the water will pull the arm down. When I'm ready to power the stroke I curved the wrist/hand a bit more. Also, the power really has to come from the back and chest or the arms will tire too quickly.
Second 700. Pulled half/swam half.
Third 700. Swam. Arms were getting tired. But I was able to focus on stretching and rolling and using the larger muscles.
