Comments:
So I went to the track today, and it wasn't a pleasant experience. I did 2 miles on the track, alternating every 200 meters between jogging and running hard. I timed my 4th hard 200 and clocked it at 37. Now, I know I haven't done any speedwork since last summer, and it'd been years before that, but I still thought it would've been faster. After my 2 miles, I ran 4x30 meters at fulls speed. It seemed like it took forever for me to get up to speed. That's what you get from a couple years of distance running with almost no speedwork. So, since I already know I can run really far, now I'm going to work on getting fast again. I have a half-marathon at the end of September, and I'd like to be able to run a sub-5 mile by then. I figure that'll make 6:30 miles feel like walking. I'll be going to the track once a week.
