Twins Loop

July 29, 2012 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Got up slightly earlier, packed up, then hit Charlton Lake to run the midsection of the course. A bit sore in the hips, but otherwise good - even my feet were good. The three of us ran N out of the lake to 4290 and beyond before Connor turned back becuase of his twisted ankle. Once Connor headed back, we picked up the pace on the flat, rolling sections to 4290 AS (<50min). Jake took over as we headed back south and really started pushing it! I was working hard and couldn't keep up. Things slowed way down when we started the climb from Charnelton to the Twins - just relentless grind grade. We both started getting bonky so we slowed and had sugar. Pretty weak run/hike to Twins and down to the AS, where I deuced for the first time on the run all weekend. Then back on the PCT - one more sugar stop. The last two miles were mercifully downhill, as we were both worn. Good practice to focus on:

- Toe "grabs"
- Staying engaged (chin, chest)
- hip extension/opening.

Finished in just <3hr for that 18miler. Not impressive, but oh well.

GOOD WEEKEND! Great to hang with those guys.
