[backlog]So, it was too hot friday and saturday to run. It was 98 when I woke up at 10 on friday, and 104 when I woke up at 11 on saturday. Too hot to even think about running. Both days I stayed up late, waiting for it to cool off. And it didn't (at midnight, it was 84 on friday, 87 on saturday... well, technically saturday an sunday, respectively). My long run on Saturday didn't happen. (Blatant honesty here). Then, it was unbearably hot on Sunday morning. Luckily, our church has AC... but I digress. I waited for it to cool off that evening, as the weatherman promised it would, following the thunderstorm, which he warned would be severe. Well, we had a pitifully brief thunderstorm (wasn't even long enough for me to take any decent pictures of it!), and then it cooled off. So I went off on a slightly overdue long run, figuring I could get at least six miles in that night. And then, maybe 600 meters out, the real thunderstorm starts. And I literally sprinted back up the hill to my house, as this storm was scarey. If it had been rain, I like to think I would have kept running (in spite of not being able to see), but the lightning was frightening!! I waited for the rain to stop, and it didn't. Dang. I guess weathermen are right about the weather sometimes.[/backlog]
