Phew, that was a shitty couple of months. I've been biking and lifting semi-regularly, but decided it wasn't worth logging it all. In any case I'm back, hopefully for good.
For now I'm doing the expected run-walk progression, 3 minutes on (on is about 8:30 pace at this point), 1 minute off. My ankle actually still feels uncomfortable while I run, but since it doesn't get any worse as I run (in fact it's gotten better as I've started running) Greg isn't worried.
Also I finally got to test my new gps watch and it seems to be accurate. Sometime when I'm able to run on the roads I'll test it against mapmyrun to see how well they match up (if I had to choose though I'd assume my watch would be more accurate since it factors in which side of the road I'm running on, how I take the turns, etc.)
