Monticello Long

August 26, 2012 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Got to sleep in this morning. After cleaning the house and waiting for Chris to come home, we got together for our first sunday long run from the house. Me Joe David Chris and Ethan headed out to find Euclid Creek. I had never been there before, but I guess you just go out Monticello for a while. We headed out that way towards Mayfield. I had to take a pit stop at Forest Hills, but then we continued onward up the road. It was kinda hot out and pretty sunny. Dehydrating weather. We kept going out, and Ethan "remembered" that we should turn on Keystone, so we did and wandered around the neighborhood north of Noble Rd. We decided that we were lost, so went back out to Monticello. I wanted 12-13 today, so at that point I headed back along the same route, feeling like I picked up the pace a little. I stopped for a drink at the house quickly then added on a mile or so up W St James. At that point I was pretty tired and wanted to stop running. I guess it wasnt as far as I really wanted, but I got to 60 this week with some good workouts and quality mileage.

We also fulfilled our Good Deed of the Day. On the way up Monticello, we witnesses an incident of Domestic Violence. We practically ran right through the altercation. Ethan flagged down a car, and we got them to call the police. As I was coming back down Monticello alone, there were two patrol cars at the house dealing with the issue. Sad situation, but we did the right thing.

Essentials: Stretch, L7, roll

Easy essential day since we are gonna be getting it in a lot next week. Also, drank like two water bottles when I got back and I was tired and dehydrated. Now to recover and prepare for first day of school tomorrow! So excited! Legs felt good today. All the things, shins calves knees. Ok. Just tired from the heat and the distance, but its making me better to slog through a run like this.
