Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
first tempo of the season on the first day of class. the whole day went pretty well, and I think it'll be a good one. going to be busy but i think it will keep me structured. need to get back into a solid sleep pattern, was a little rusty getting up, even though it was later than some days during preseason. warmed up the usual 2, and drilled. coach told me i was somewhere in betweeen because she wanted me to do 6 but maybe hang off the back of the top group. but, i'm not letting myself be separate from the top group this year. last year after intersquad i ended up in the chase group, and it probably killed a portion of my confidence. so i just decided to chill in with the top group. i felt pretty good, hanging in the back for a while and kind of trying to push the middle. my legs are still in summer training mode though. they just wouldn't answer. i stayed with the group of chris, ethan, david, wyatt and mercer, but i probably couldnt have gone much faster because of my legs. heart rate was 164. i felt pretty good breathing. i'm going to shadow david and phil on these workouts from this point on. if i want to do it in a race, gotta do it now. the legs will come along. 300 accelerations felt good. my hands were tight a little, and barnes called me out on it. ethan and i beasted the lift, followed by solo abs and stretching, then an ice bath. fribley for the first time in forever. no pasta :(
