Tempo: Back in Black

Comments:
Kinda chilly out today in the morning. Actually wore a sweatshirt down, I love that kind of weather. Coach had a cool idea today to have everyone wear the same clothes, like the volleyball and softball team do. It was kinda cool all the guys had on the black shirts and all the girls had on white today (I got new shirts too! I misplaced my black one from freshman year somehow...) All headed out together going down to MLK. Shoes felt fine, still getting used to the orthodics. Drills were good too not feeling too sore overall. I kinda had to poo before we started the tempo, could feel it coming on. I thought I could have a good workout before though. Went with the second group, ppl I usually tempo with (Gabe, Dong, Gilad etc). Some of those guys were going 4 miles, so they went off at a quicker pace and I stuck with Gilad and Chris E. We were shooting for 5:45 pace. We were right on and a good pack for the first 2 miles. They whole first 2 miles, my lower legs were really tight and sore (that crunched feeling I get sometimes). I kept the pace, but it was taxing on my body. Breathing and cardio felt so good and smooth, just really uncoordinated and uncomfortable in the legs. After 2, Gilad and Chris dropped me when we cut across a green light. At that point, I started to loose it. Got a stomach cramp from the poo feeling and my legs werent feeling great. I slowed down a lot and coasted it in alone. Overall, I just didnt feel ontop of my game. Shit happens sometimes. I think I am still getting used to the orthotics, since this was the first time I ran fast in them. They feel decent, but forign, so I got to work into them. HR was 156 at the end, so I knew I wasnt where I could be. Splits were:

5:46, 5:45, 6:01, 6:13, 6:13

Got the stomach aches out then went over to the track to do 300s those felt much better. A nice easy cool down to veale and I was feeling a little better.

Essentials: Stretch, roll, hammies, L7, abs, ice bath

After strength got a good stretch in as usual. Did some med ball hammy stuff. Also a good ice bath. Legs do feel kinda sore after today. I am looking forward to the split tempos in the future. Also, got to talk to CKells on our walk home. Good chat about the some stuff we are going through now and in the future. GTD on the morning run tomorrow. If I run to the farm I can get mileage, but I kinda want to rest in the morning and fit in a longer easy distance run tomorrow.
