Mile Repeats at the Farm

Comments:
After a fun man night, we had mile repeats on the course, supposed to be race pace. We were to take HRs after 2 minutes, and if anyone in your group was over 120 we were supposed to wait until everyone was under. I wanted to go about 27:00 pace or so, 5:25-5:40 somewhere.

First mile ended up being kinda slow, coach wanted us to make sure we ran the second mile as fast as the first, even though the second mile is uphill. It felt about the same effort, but was slower. Picked it back up on the third mile. I was staying with Ben pretty much on the first 3, and he was helping pull me along nicely. He jumped up a group for miles 4 and 5, and I should have gone with him, as I ended up running mile 4 completely alone and ended up running about the same time Ben did. Fifth mile was fast but felt really good, not too taxing, but it was all downhill so that is to be expected.

The spikes made the arch of my right foot really sore, may try to take it for next weekend.

This was definitely the best workout I've had this year, and it really boosted my confidence a lot. I know I can still run fast, and I feel sub-27 is a realistic goal at All-Ohio as long as I stay focused and keep negative thoughts away. I feel I did a pretty good job of staying positive today, so that is encouraging.

Cooled down 2 miles in the woods with Ethan, stretch. Still can't do abs without my chest hurting a lot, hope to be able to resume soon.
