Last "dry" track session, probably! Rains are supposed to arrive Friday.

LB's workout was 2K-K-2K but at a pretty tempo pace (5:45, 5:30, respective). So I decided I'd go harder in the last 800, last 400.

Splits: (1200, 800; 600, 400)

STRIDE: so it hit me that I'm fucking overstriding on the right again! Fuck! When I do, three things happen:

1.) my R SI joint gets pissy (it is)
2.) my R abs and R anterior hip get sore (they are)
3.) my L achilles is sore, because too much extension on the R = foot out front on L (it is).

So I really focused on being compact and getting the R leg directly beneath me. It felt pretty good, and neither issue was felt during the workout.

Can't remember if I've talked to BGD about this, but sometimes in hard workouts I'll "motivate myself" with some female-related, "If I run this fast, then ___" deal - always something overtly sexual. So after taking off for the last 8, I decided that, "If I break 2:30, then I'll see Chelsea naked". So I roll through the 400m in 74.x; second lap I feel strong - all the while imagining her strip down like Veronica Vaughn in "Billy Madison" - but I'm really mindful on mechanics. Don't push it too hard, keep it in control, convinced I'm running a 2:28. Hit the split: 2:30.8. FUCK! I blew it! ;)

Nice cooldown in the dark (+10 pull-ups - "If I do them with no hesitation, then ____", which I did :p).

Overall, the speed - namely the 5:00 pace - felt really smooth. I think I do a much better job at a compact stride on the track then on tempos, easy runs.
