Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
You win some, you lose some. I know everyone, especially me, is disappointed.
I was nervous for this race starting Sunday before counties, which is really unusual for me. I even woke up 5 times in the night before counties and I had a bad dream relating to the race. I'm usually pretty calm and/or excited leading up to races. I think I put too much pressure on myself to do as well as I did at the senior meet. I wanted to be top 5 so badly that I didn't think it was a possibility that I wouldn't even get a medal. I lost focus during the race and got intimidated by other racers for no good reason. I psyched myself out even before the race began, so I wasn't prepared when it came time to buckle down and run a good race. I didn't really feel physically tired, I just felt unaware and unable to make myself run faster and keep up with the girls I can keep up with.
I'm really sorry I didn't do my part and run the race I should've run.
I know that this race was definitely a wake up call for the girls and guys to really step it up. We're really going to have to work hard and fight for the spots we want and deserve to get.
Sorry for the weirdly long post. I just feel like I have a lot of explaining to do for my performance yesterday.
