MLK workout

November 5, 2012 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Workout in the afternoon, but it was more like night time... so dark. WE were doing a 4 mile tempo, then a mile hard. I had a really busy day, like I always do. I have been kinda stressed with work this semester, but I have been pushing through to the best of my ability, just doin work as usual. I think everything caught up to me today though. Felt fine on the warm up, just a small group of us. Drills at MLK were good too, but it was starting to get pretty dark. We then set out. Coach set paces to be around 5:10 to 5:30. Just knowing me and my tempos this season, there was no way I was gong to hold 5:10s. I thought I would just go out with the group and stay back incase anyone fell off. I fell pretty far behind after the 800 actually. Came through feeling pretty good and on pace at the mile, then I was just so far back I slowed down a lot. Just a perfect storm, and I dont really know where to me mentally. I kinda just kept an upright form and tried to feel strong, but with no one around and it being dark, I just slowed down even more. After the 3 had to take a potty break, then I got picked up by the van. Just wasnt feeling it today. Splits were

5:37, 6:04, 6:21, ...

Over to the track since it was too dark on MLK to do the mile. I just started out with everyone and tried to hang on for as long as I could. Made it 800 before my stomach felt weird again and I knew I should stop. Jogged around with Timmy then we all headed back to Veale.

Essentials: Stretch, L7, roll, hips, abs, ice bath

Good stretch out even though my legs arnt that sore. I dont really feel in the racing mode anymore... I think Ill snap back into it when we head out to regionals though. Im just there to help the team. I still feel like I am in great shape though, and I can hold that through the winter for sure. I want to do track right next year.

Ice bath was good too. We got to jump off the diving board today. Yea!
