Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Kinda got the idea to run the Turkey Trot from people when I saw them at Nats. I heard a big crew was going down this morning and figured it would be fun. I never do the Turkey Trot because I am usually in Cincy. It started pretty early but I was excited to head down there. I went to bed so early last night. It was packed there were over 500 runners, past years it has been around 100-200. Met up with Liam Matt and Ari and we did a easy warm up down to Boynton. On the way back, saw JD, who I havnt run with in a long time... So natural to meet up and run with these guys after being away from IHS so long. Later grouped up with Dan Paul and others at the start line. The Turkey Trot is a prediction run. I had no idea how long it was going to take (I dont even know how long it was...) Matt put down a quick time, so I knew they were gonna go out hard. Plus they are really competitive with each other haha. So sketch at the beginning, typical Finger Lakes Running Club style. Everyone knows everyone, so all of a sudden the race started. Course went down to Boynton, up the sketch hill we did repeats on sometimes, across sunset, down Remington, loop in Stewart Park, then along the golf course. After the golf course at the fire training grounds, you looped back over the bridges into the Bird Sanctuary and then came back over the train tracks and under the bridge. Ran with Ari and Dan V most of the time, keeping the pace easy. JD was right behind us too. Just out for a nice run with some old friends. It was cold and my legs were tightening up in the beginning, but felt good in the middle. Afterward, they were pretty sore, and I didnt stretch very much lol. Lots of fun though, great to come back to the old stomping grounds
