Comments:
Signed up for a road race today. It didn't go as well as I'd hoped, but it was good to see what I could do right now. The first two miles went well, I kept a smooth, solid pace, but unfortunately, I had some issues at the beginning of the third mile. For whatever reason, my chest/stomach just tightened up, and kept me from going any faster. I didn't feel a lot of stress on my body, it just kind of stopped cooperating with me. Luckily, I was able to pull it together for a good last mile, but that middle bit just ruined my overall time. All things considered though, I haven't done much beyond volume work, so once I start getting some good speed/interval/hill work done, I can do a lot better.
