Snowy Hardesty

January 12, 2013 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Met Jason at Lewis', and the three of us drove out to Hardesty for an up/down. We were expecting big snow, but that did not deter us.

I felt tired, but looking forward to an easy ascent. Jason led; he's not "SUPS" fast, but he did a great job of setting an honest pace. We ran into bits of snow almost immediately, meaning by mile 2 there was consistent 2-3" of pow-pow, and by mile 3.5...we were walking. Bummer. 6" of pow on top of 6" of crust. By 4.5 miles we figured we'd push all the way. The last half mile we did some serious post-holing but oh well.

Pretty at the top - sun with some view. Cool! The descent was fun for a while, but then I tweaked my R foot a bit. Also, my L toes were sore from over-striding on Friday's tempo.

That, and I was TIRED. Eek. Didn't know if it was 100% running or some allergies, but I was very flat.

Speedcross' were $$ in the snow. No slipping.
