Sloans Lake Park

January 27, 2013 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 40s...then nearly 60 by afternoon!

Comments:
Jesse came to Dallas' at 0830 for a run. I did some stride analysis to help with his chronic heel pain, then we ran.

Went easy from Dallas', west to Sloans Lake Park, a solid 3ish mile loop around an urban lake.

Back felt a little sore, but otherwise the stride felt good. Both Dallas and Jesse are former collegiate all-americans (I think - either way they were fast as shit) but are out of form a bit. I was surprised at both of them at how slow their turnover was. Hmmm...

Post-run: cleaned up, then drove out to Red Rocks Ampitheatre in the foothills. By the time we got there it was pure sun and nearly 60. What an amazing place!

When we got there there must've been 200 people working out there! Running stairs, doing random workouts, etc. Very cool! Then we saw a big "boot camp" group doing a workout and watched them....quite captivating, given there were SEVERAL very attractive, fit women in the group. Come to find out it's 3hr class, that's FREE! SUPS cool. Golly, I wish I lived there. I'm basically forcing Dallas to go back and flirt on my behalf. Or at least in my honor.

Post-amp, we drove this "lookout mountain" road, which climbs an 1800' high rise between Red Rocks and Golden, CO. Rhere were tons of cyclists going up/down, as well as trail runners at the top. Very cool.

Drove down to Golden to go to this little "coffee house brewery"; had a couple beers and enjoyed the sun!

After that, hit the airport and headed home. Pretty solid weekend. For a while I felt really bad about not going home. I still do, but news of an ice storm Sunday night made me feel less guilty.
