Comments:
This was the first time I had ever run three events in one day--and what a day it was. I achieved small personal bests in all three, and enjoyed good competition from Zeke and kids from other schools. Despite sore hamstrings and back, I stretched aggressively during the warmup and felt focused, ready and only slightly nervous. My 800m splits were 68 and 70. Anthony reminded me to lift my knees and to trust myself to push the third lap. I did not establish a lead, though managing to make up some ground on the two in front of me. The mile felt great and the 400 was also enjoyable; Anthony later pointed how fun it was to watch sprinters from other schools fade in the second lap. A good meet overall.
