Easy PRE/SPFD

February 2, 2013 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: mid 40s, half-sun

Comments:
Slept IN today - was out fairly late with Caleb (our PT resident). Slept til AFTER 11 - very out of character for me. But appreciated.

Because of the:

1. Booze
2. Run fatigue
3. Allergies

I was pretty lethargic this morning, but I finally got around to a nice 5-setter of convict lifts:

Push-ups
Abs (can't do trunk flexes - ass too sore yet)
Door pulls (no pull-up bar - don't trust my other door frame!)
Back/hip extensions

Then did a bunch of stretching, including to my foot/ankles. I think I was sore in my foot because it's too stiff to land neutral (being SO used to landing laterally).

That must've helped, because I felt 10x better on this run: easy pace (7:00 on the bark, still) from the apt, through Alton, all the way to Island Park in SPFD and back. No heel pain, though I note that I run up on my toes way too much. Did a much better job of being on the ball/inner foot on the L.

Tried to do some quick strides at the end of the run, but the ass is still too sore for that impact.

So looks like the early word is that D-Bo beat Jimothy, 6:47 to 6:52, at Ray Miller. Huh. Not sure what to think about that. I know Jimothy is running high volumes. So how SUPS tough is D-Bo? Huh...

Sounds like it's a hell of an event, though, but not cheap to get to SoCal. I always get pangs of "FOMO/YOLO", sitting on the sidelines, taking in the results. But ultimately I just gotta keep the "eyes to the grindstone"...
