High Point to Hammersley like yesterday to Gilbert to Meadowood to Whitney to Williamsburg Way to King James to Nesbitt to Cross Country to E-Pass to Country Grove to Muir Field to Cranwood to McKenna to Gammon to Watts back-
It was raining and everything still had a combination of black ice and puddles covering it, so the weather made for an interesting piece of the run. I planned to accomplish two things with this run:
1. Run through the valley I overlooked yesterday.
2. I noticed on a map there is a road called "Cross Country Road" so naturally I HAVE to run there.
The route was meh. I ended up running along the frontage to a highway for several miles into the teeth of the wind. I also wore a sock with a hole in it and that combined with completely soaked feet gave me a nasty blister that popped open and bled all over the sock. My stomach felt pretty bad and I questioned whether or not I'd make it back for a bit.
But there were some interesting points, my route took me straight through the largest cul-de-sac style suburban development I've ever been in. It was a mile by mile block of new construction homes that, while in the middle of, formidably stretched as far as the eye could see.
Cross Country Road was a decent place to run but nothing incredible to befit its name. It also had a sidewalk that randomly dead-ended; maybe that's supposed to symbolize injury or something.
