RoR K's with DanO

February 13, 2013 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 50? warm, sundown

Comments:
Met dan-o at 5:30 for a workout again. Felt tired and clunky, but I knew I need to get in some quality.

What I've determined as the #1 pain generator for my back and hamstrings, AND why I'm so damn sore: lack of hip flexion/drive on a neutral (slight arched) back. That would be the focus today: can I drive my leg upward (quickly up/down) to generate track speed?

Ran from the apt to SEHS, did some clunky strides. The plan was like two weeks ago: kilo repeats w/the first 400m at 5K/8K, then the middle 200m at mile/3K, then back to 5K/8K for the last 400m. Thought about 4, but I knew I'd be too tired, so we did only 3.

I was shocked at how slow we were, for the effort, but generally, the LEGS felt OK, just the energy was low. In fact, I probably could've done 4 at that speed:

81, 35, 80 = 3:18
81, 35, 80 = 3:17
79, 35, 77 = 3:13

Total K times included the "change" (tenths). Slow, but oh well. Just quality effort and stride work. Felt tired but fine on the cooldown.

Post-run: did laundry and a good 4-setter of "convict" work, jamming out to Disturbed and vintage Linkin Park!

Hit up Max's just before 9 for Lonesome Randall. Actually had a couple fun convos with Randy during his set breaks (cool guy - former HS teacher, retired - now does 2-3 gigs a week in town). Sat at the bar it was so jammed when I got there.

Wound up talking quite a bit with the OTHER (admittedly cuter, more shy) hot bartender, Alisa! I know, this is ridiculous. Her shift ended at 10 and she wound up sitting next to me and we shared some convo over beverages. She really did seem "interested" (R-ruh, REALLY?), and was asking me a bunch of stuff about myself. Interesting. She's quite pretty (much more so than Heath Ledger's sister, but "sis" did have a smoking skinny-bod). But man, I'm scared to even try - I'm just so averse to rejection and/or complication...but that's the risk, always, isn't it? We'll see what happens... Anyway, it was a really fun night, talking to her. Interestingly Whitney showed up for the 10PM shift. Friendly as usual (maybe back to her "usual" hyper-friendliness).
