Wow what a day. This was the longest--and quite possibly the hardest run of my life. It all started when one Sam Boardman declared that he felt the route unfit and boring, so we decided to go in the opposite direction. Upon approaching the end of the capital crescent trail the general consensus was that we wanted a loop not an out and back. We went through Rock Creek Park for a while, up Tilden and presto the run ended up being 14 miles. I hadn't eaten much during the day so after an hour or so I kind of broke down and started to drift away from the group. But I kept my head, and tried to keep my form and staggered back a few minutes behind them, doing no strength work and eating my weight in girl scout cookies when I got home. Worth it? Yes. Am I sore now? Yes.
